Here’s How You Can Stop Doing All The Social Media Things At Once
I've been in the social media space since 2011. I've experienced all the emotions you're going through when it comes to social media.
The buzz that comes from seeing your post get engagement. Anxiety about a new feature, comparionitits from checking out competitor accounts, and even envy of people who can take long breaks from social media.
Then one day it hit me that if I was feeling this overwhelmed by social media, then the average business owner MUST be too.
If you’re nodding your head yes, then you already know that social media requires a lot of moving parts. From creating graphics to recording videos to writing captions and scheduling posts, there are a lot of elements that can be overwhelming for business owners.
So how do we alleviate overwhelm? We SIMPLIFY.
I’ve spent years perfecting a super simple social media strategy and system that I have been using on my clients to help them trade in the hustle and bustle of social media for the 3 S's:
1. Simple
Social media becomes overwhelming because we are trying to do too much.
Too many social media channels
Too many different types of content
Too many posts per week or month
When we get clear on your goals and what you’re trying to accomplish, we can do less and actually accomplish more. This approach feels so much better and allows you to find joy in social media again. You can just do what works and forget the rest.
2. Strategy
Social media is often overwhelming because we don’t have a plan or a strategy. We get stuck on what to post because we aren’t clear on what we are trying to say or who we are trying to say it to.
When we dig into our brand and our target audience and develop a strategy around it, everything gets easier. A social media strategy tells us what to post, where to post it, and how to best speak to the audience we want to attract.
3. System
A social media system is what you use to execute your strategy with way less time.
Things like a content calendar, batch creating your content, and scheduling your posts will help you show up consistently on your chosen social media channels with just a couple of hours a month.
The 3 S’s takes your best ideas and gives you a plan to share them, very simply and without overthinking it.
