My 2019 Reading List
I love to read. I also love (I mean LOVE) Audible. I guess what I really love is learning. About new topics and expanding my mind. But my reading game was kind of a mess. Let me explain…
I tend to find it easier to consume books via Audible because I am often on the go. But I recently recommitted to reading from a physical book for 10-15 minutes a day. There is something about reading from a physical book that I not only enjoy but I find that I absorb the information differently. (Maybe, better? Anyone else?) I also love that reading from a physical book forces me to stop and rest. Versus listening to Audible - that only fuels my constant on-the-go mentality.
I also recently committed to NOT having multiple books going at the same time. I used to have 4-5 books I was consuming at one time. My mind didn’t enjoy it. It was too much. But I loved l learning about different topics that feed my soul (hence, multiple books).
So, new year - new rules - new goals.
One physical book and one audible book at a time - no more.
If I don’t like a book, I don’t finish it. Life is too short. Give it away and move on to the next one on the list.
Two books a month = 24 books for the year.
I took my “wish list” of books to read and broke them down by category and priority. So far, I’ve completed two books. (I have some catching up to do!)
