Top FREE Social Media Tools for 2019
Every single Friday of 2018 I shared my favorite online marketing resources on my Facebook Page. The best part? Each and every one is completely FREE! I understand the importance of sticking to a budget, which is why I worked hard to find and share the best free marketing tools available. Below is my complete list of #FridayFreebies. They are guaranteed to help you execute your marketing strategy and make social media easier in 2019- without breaking the bank.
Later.com- One of my own business goals for 2019 is to start using Instagram for business more consistently. I have started using Later to schedule *some* of my posts on Instagram and I love it! I will certainly still be posting in real time but it has already made my weeks so much better. If you are looking for a scheduler - I highly recommend it.
Linktree is a must for Instagram users! Use one link to share ALL of your content with your followers, without ever having that change out that link in your bio again.
If you're into Instagram Stories (and if you're not you should be!) then definitely check out Storeo. It slices your videos into 15 second slices and allows you to upload to Instagram Stories. Your viewers will see one long, cohesive video. Hence, video Stories that are longer than 15 seconds!
Layout from Instagram allows you to create your own layout with different photos and multiple filters. It is fun and easy to use.
There isn't a "Share" button on Instagram, but you can still share other posts with the Repost app. In fact, it is a great way to get new and exciting content and generate engagement with other accounts.
Facebook Live is one of the best ways to connect with your audience, boost engagement and grow your following!
If you're not using Facebook Messenger to communicate and stay in touch, you're missing out! Messenger is just like texting but it’s free. Messenger also plays into Facebook's algorithm. So the more you use it, the more likely the people you're messaging are to see your posts in their feed.
If you have a Facebook Business Page but don't have Facebook's Pages app, download it right now! It helps you manage your Page on the go (including viewing notifications, replying to comments and messages, posting and scheduling and so much more).
Blueprint is great for people who are new to Facebook and are looking for courses on managing pages, growing your business and FB advertising. It offers beginner e-courses on a variety of topics and they are all free!
Emojiepedia is a quick and easy way to find the emoji you are looking for. You can then copy and paste it into your post. Yes, Facebook has a drop down but it can be clunky and a time suck
Video
Videorama lets you make amazing movies out of your photos and videos. It allows you to easily add text and your logo to video - and so much more.
If you use video at all in your marketing mix (and if not, start now!) you should absolutely have a YouTube account. It keeps your videos organized, is easy to share and can help improve your SEO.
Loom allows you to quickly create and share videos to get your message across without a lot of words. It is a Google product so it is easy to use!
Jing is a free software tool for screencasting videos or screen captures. It includes basic editing tools and makes creating online tutorials a breeze. Jing is a Techsmith product. (You may also love the paid versions: Snagit and Camtasia!)
Ever wondered what people use to make those super short, looped videos? They're most likely using Boomerang! This app from Instagram is super easy to use and creates fun and eye-catching content. You can easily share your mini video to Instagram or Facebook or save it to your phone.
Images and Graphics
Want to up your infographic game? Try Piktochart! It's easy to use and you can try it for free.
If you want to take your Instagram and Facebook stories to the next level, you have to check out Hype Type! It is my current obsession.
Looking for a free app to add text to photos - check out Phonto!
I love Death to Stock when I am looking for unique photos. They offer a free version and email you photos every week.
Canva and Snappa have completely changed the marketing and graphic design world. They make creating beautiful graphics easy peasy. Both platforms are great, and I recommend trying your hand at both to see which one works best for you.
One of the questions I get asked the most is what are my favorite apps for creating images. Pablo is a new one at the top of my list. Check it out - it's free!
Pixabay, Unsplash and Pexels are some of my favorite places to find free, high-quality images for blogs and posts.

Google Products
Google Drive gives you 15 GB of free Google online storage, so you can keep photos, stories, designs, drawings, recordings, videos – anything. Download. Backup. Sync. Anywhere. Anytime. All for free.
If you're an Excel person (or wanting to get organized), you must check out Google Sheets. You can access it from anything (computer, phone, tablet) and collaborate with others for free. I use Google Sheets for to-do lists, budgets, tracking expenses, timesheets, social media metrics and content planning. The best part is that I never have to worry about saving or multiple versions of the same file.
Google Slides is a total lifesaver. It works with PowerPoint, you never have to worry about hitting "save, allows for easy collaboration, is easy to share and you can work from anywhere - even your phone!
Business Tools
Need help getting organized, managing projects and meeting deadlines? Asana is a great project management tool that makes collaborating easy.
If you are wanting to up your email marketing game (or just get started), MailChimp is a great tool. Create beautiful emails quickly and easily. Plus, their support is unmatched.
Did you know GoToMeeting offers a free version? You can host online meetings and web conferencing with up to 3 clients and colleagues. It makes collaborating from anywhere so easy!
Looking for a simple social media scheduler? Check out Hootsuite. Yes, there are more sophisticated schedulers out there, but if you are knew to the game - Hootsuite is a great place to get started.
Venmo is a free digital wallet that lets you make and share payments. It's an app owned by PayPal and it is a complete life changer! Not only does it make life easier, but it is fun to use - with a social aspect. I use Venmo for business purposes as well as personally!
Have a presentation that you want to share with the world? Use Slide Share! It's a great way to share what you know and love, and you can see the presentations that other professionals have created as well.
Miscellaneous
CoSchedule helps in crafting or perfecting the perfect headline. Use the free Headline Analyzer to write better headlines.
Did you know you can publish articles on LinkedIn for free? This is a great place to repurpose blogs and get them in front of fresh eyes. Plus, ️if you don't have a website with a blog feature, you can use LinkedIn to publish and share blogs!
Medium is like Twitter but in long form. Republish your content and share it with a new audience. It is a great tool to grow your network and will get fresh eyes on your content.

Whether you’re blogging, posting or emailing - Grammarly is a super cool tool that helps you write your best and communicate effectively. It's like a fast and free editor!
If you like voice-to-text, you should definitely check out Voxer. Instead of converting voice to text is actually sends a voice (audio) message. I am officially hooked on it and texting and all other forms of communication messaging now seem to take forever.
